About
History
The Pueblo Amateur Radio Club (PARC) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to supporting the amateur radio community in Pueblo, Colorado, and the surrounding region. Our mission encompasses promoting amateur radio as a rewarding and exciting hobby and service, utilizing allocated radio frequencies for recreational, non-commercial, experimental, and emergency communications.
In 2016, PARC assumed the assets, liabilities, operations, and membership of the Pueblo Ham Club, an organization affiliated with the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) since 1937. This transition allows us to continue a tradition of amateur radio activity in Pueblo spanning nearly 86 years.
Our membership represents nearly all facets of the amateur radio hobby and related technologies. We are committed to growth through new educational opportunities and actively encourage existing amateurs to engage in various modes of communication.
PARC owns, operates, and maintains several repeaters in the area, supporting both our programs and regular amateur non-commercial radio traffic. We also conduct several free classes throughout the year for all three license types: Technician, General, and Extra. These classes are part of our effort to educate and expand the amateur radio community.
We hold monthly meetings to discuss club activities, share knowledge, and plan future events. These meetings are currently held at 9:30 AM on the first Saturday of the month at the Rawlings Main Branch of the Pueblo Library.
Our leadership team comprises dedicated individuals who guide the club's activities and initiatives. We offer various membership options, including Full Member, Senior (60+), Family, Senior Family, Student, and Associate memberships. Notably, you do not have to be a licensed amateur to join our club; everyone is welcome. However, only licensed amateurs have voting privileges at club meetings.
PARC is proud to be an ARRL-affiliated club, reflecting our commitment to the broader amateur radio community.
We invite anyone interested in amateur radio, whether licensed or not, to join us in exploring this exciting and rewarding hobby.
